Training Description

This FREE 7-hour virtual training will illustrate the use of Functional Family Therapy and the cultural contextualization to the New Mexico population. Using video tapes and case examples, the focus will be on the unique application of the core principles of FFT to the complex mental health problems of young people and their families. The training is based on Dr. Sexton’s and Mrs. Anderson’s latest book ‘Functional Family Therapy: A Comprehensive, Evidence-Based Treatment for Diverse Communities’ and will focus; on engaging youth and families into treatment, taking a systemic view of youth problems and FFT tools to work with problems of contemporary families in the New Mexico Context.

This training is intended for NM Community Behavioral Health Providers who serve children and families, and those interested in becoming an FFT provider under Medicaid.
