Libros for Kids 2026 Children’s Book Fair

Libros for Kids, in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, provides books every month to children in
Bernalillo and Valencia Counties. Since 2018, Libros/Dolly Parton has mailed more than 369,000 books at no cost to the
homes of children aged 0 to 5.

Building on its core service, Libros for Kids is inviting children and their families to our second annual free book
fair spotlighting New Mexico children’s book authors and illustrators. Join us to celebrate the accomplishments and
creativity of these authors and illustrators, many who are from ethnically diverse backgrounds.

The event is scheduled at the APS Berna Facio Professional Development Center, 3315 Louisiana Blvd NE.
Highlights for the Book Fair include:
 Several New Mexico authors—from well-known prize winners to newcomers—will read from their works and
invite children to participate in related creative activities.
 Bookworks will be present to provide authors with a venue to sell their books.
 Read to Me!, a Libros sister organization, is sponsoring a 1927-era Albuquerque city bus for the children to
board and receive a free book.
 Other activities will include a local magician, Read to the Dogs, Hawks Aloft (live educational birds), story tellers,
and more!
